Pre-download offline mountain maps, record GPS tracks with the screen off, and import or export standard GPX files. Current map coverage focuses on Japan, including major mountain and backcountry zones such as the Northern Alps, Hokkaido / Niseko, and Mt. Fuji.

Does MTWay work without internet?

Yes for core offline navigation and track recording after maps are downloaded. Downloading new map packages and cloud sync still need connectivity.

Can I use GPS without cellular service?

Yes. GPS uses satellites, not cellular data. Offline maps should be cached beforehand for on-trail context.

Can MTWay use GPX files?

Yes. MTWay supports standard GPX import and export.
